Golden Ghost-

My journey back the midwest was obviously going to be bittersweet. I knew that going in. My grandmother passed away in May and I was going back to Michigan for her memorial services this past Saturday (day before Blossom). The memorial was amazing and seeing my family was great, of course wishing it was better circumstances but my grandmother lived 90 wonderful years and was at peace. She is an angel.

We left for Cleveland Sunday a.m. and got there with plenty of time to check into our hotel, the Quaker Inn. A hotel that used to be the original Quaker Oats Silo, all the rooms were ROUND. Really, round rooms?!! Yes. Fucking weird!  Blossom was E'lons bday and it was amazing to see the mitten crew come together in full effect. It was my first show of summer and Dongers bday, so you know we made a b-line for the rail. We parked it right in front of that piano and hung on like monkeys.

The show was old school. No 3.0 orignals. (3.0 covers, but no originals). We had a B-Last getting down. Abbey and Yemster and I all told Page it was E'lons Bday and he mouthed Happy Birthday and smiled his awesome Page smile. OMV. We got down to a short Tube, a headbanging Axilla, got drunk on the Gin, and luv'd a pretty Roses, Tore off our Limbs and got super FREE!  Awesome Blossom Possum wedged a beautiful Corrina (reminds me of my sis Karine) and if you listen really close before meatstick, you can hear me scream, we wanna see your meatstick!. Uhhhhh and then they played it and pulled people up on stage to do the meatstick. WTF. Are you kidding? I litterally had joked with E'lon a week or two earlier that they were going to pull her on stage to do meatstick for her bday. We were waaaaay Page side and Trey was being SHY soooo we were not part of that, however it was kinda a hot mess....so I am absolutely ok with that. I did not have bloomies on and would have shown the world my unicorn undie-pantz.  It was awesome to see Trey having so much fun with it though. He's in full on banter antics mode this tour.

Moving onward, it was set break. The phish crew camera guy (to remain nameless) had been super friendly all night. He was super chill and nice. We made friends and later on in the set break he walked out from backstage and came over and handed me a piece of pumpkin pie. He was like: Its good, have some. It was really the oddest thing ever to be standing there in the pit with a piece of pie. We did a photoshoot with the pie and shared it. Totally RANDOM. whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat! I will get back to the Pie later. It is actually the total point of my post today.

Second set started with a Golden age they opened up a bit. LOOOOOOVE GOLDEN AGE! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Soooo good!
My fave new cover. I think its got to be everyone's right? I think I should get to the Ghost though....seriously guys! Some cosmic shit went down. During Ghost a butterfly flew on stage and over Page's head. It was orange. I could not tell if it was a Monarch, but I wanna say it was. It was def orange with black. The next day I learned butterflies can symbolize, transition, lightness & soul. I suppose this is where I should let you know about my brother Eric that passed away last year during the midwest Phish shows. Most of you know already, but in case you don't... He was intensive care during the time of the Blossom show last year barely hanging on. You know the show where the debuted Steam and played the Hood>Have Mercy> Hood. That one. So even though bittersweet, I now see it was really important for me to be at Blossom as I would have missed the message. Later on that night after the show, long after Ice Ice Baby, we were all hanging at a local Akron bar talking about how random it was that the camera guy gave me pie....and then it dawned on me. Holy shit. Eric!!!! You see Eric's nickname as a child was Pumpkin Pie, in fact it's a name that stayed with him as an adult. We called him PIE. I can't explain how or why, but I do have comfort knowing that life is not all for nothing. When we die, our energy, lifeforce, SOUL does not just disappear into thin air. It does not vanish like steam. My brother somehow sent me a message. I feel like the message is, he is ok and loved me (which sometimes I wasn't sure). My brain is still processing that this even happened, its pretty unbelieveable and I'm glad we did the photoshoot with the pie, or I would have started to doubt it even happened, but it did. Fucking amazing. I can't even tell you.  An aha moment where everything just kinda makes sense and you know it's all good. - It shocked and persuaded my soul to ignite, for realz. Part of me wants to run off and join the circus and the other part of me knows I need to keep my balance and keep priortizing my kiddos and work and do what shows I can, (which is not as many as I'd like). There are more odd things that happened that night that I am going to keep to myself, but I just wanted to share the Pie story. Life is toooo good. Live it to the maximus and never forget those we've lost. They live in our hearts and shine a light- to keep us on our path.

The Color Run ~ Dallas

In February, I flew up to Dallas to visit with my lifelong friend Colleen and participate in The Color Run with my sparkly sister Shannon. It was amaze ballz!

The Color Run is pretty much exactly how it sounds. A 5k run for charity that at each kilometer they dust you with color powdery goodness. First yellow, then pink, purple, green and then one massive color-splosion party at the finish line. You would have to be a total jerk not to have a complete blast at The Color Run. It's probably coming to your town.. YOU SHOULD DEF DO IT! The charity will change per city, but in Dallas we ran for the American Heart Association. http://thecolorrun.com/

When Shannon first linked the run on my facebook page http://thecolorrun.com/
it seemed quite clear- The Color Run has taken inspiration from Holi Festival. The Festival of Colors. Holi is typically celebrated by Hindus on the full moon day in the month of Phalgun (March).

Holi celebrates spring, commemorates various events in Hindu mythology.  It is a time of enjoying spring's abundant colors and saying farewell to winter. Holi is time of disregarding social norms and indulging in general merrymaking.

XoXo PonyTime XoXo

Happy Valentines Day everybodyeeee! I hope it is full of love, happiness and sparkles!!!

For the past few years I have been making my friendz super sparkling valentines. It makes me happerz to send positive vibrations out into the universe. These days when most of our communication is done electronically, it's nice to take the time to just send regular snail mail. Old skool! I wish I could've had the pony express deliver them! Speaking of ponies, I found My Little Pony valentines to use this year! Can you imagine what a total freak I was squeaking YAY PONIES in the valentines day aisle?

Making semi-handmade valentines is pretty easy. I begin by selecting some juvenile valentines. In previous years, I've created with Yo Gabba Gabba, Snoopy, Hello Kitty, Sesame Street to name a few. Next, I locate some colorful stationary. This year I found a set of 100 envelopes and cards at SuperTarget for like, 12 bucks. They worked perfectly. You will also need glue and glitter. The best I have found is just spray adhesive glue by Elmers. (modge podge will make the card curl, no bueno). Once you glue the valentine to card, let it dry and then spray the front of the card with a gentle layer of glue- then dust the glitter. Sparkle Funzies. I always have the best time creating these. You can go crazy with it and add stickers or whatever you can think of. For me, I've just discovered with as much glitter as I like to use, I keep it simple.

Peace and Pony LOVE!
XoXo
